As we closed 2025, I found myself reflecting on a year that marked a turning point for Red Sea International Airport (RSI) not only in our operational growth, but in how we are redefining what a modern, sustainable airport can and should be.
This was the year we strengthened our position as the gateway to two of the world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism destinations. Through new global partnerships, major sustainability milestones and enhanced passenger experiences, 2025 has brought RSI closer to its mission to offer seamless, future-ready aviation that protects the environment while elevating connectivity across the region and beyond.
Our progress in 2025 was driven first and foremost by the strength of our airline partnerships. Welcoming Qatar Airways and BeOnd onto our growing route network has expanded access to The Red Sea destination, and soon to AMAALA, and connected our airport to key global hubs. These partnerships reinforce our commitment to bringing the world closer to two of Saudi Arabia’s most visionary destinations and to doing so through operational excellence and shared ambition.
With every new route introduced this year, we have not only broadened our connectivity, but enhanced the visitor experience, creating smoother, more efficient and more enjoyable journeys through our airport. We have a clear and measured growth trajectory, with an aim to scale our approximately 20 flights per week to 60 flights by 2030.
The last year also reaffirmed RSI’s leadership in sustainable aviation. We were proud to achieve Level 1 Carbon Accreditation, a milestone that reflects our long-term commitment to decarbonising airport operations.
Additionally, we became the first airport in the kingdom to offer Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), positioning RSI as an early regional adopter and contributing to the wider decarbonisation of air travel. We remain committed to accelerating SAF adoption in the years to come, working closely with partners across the aviation value chain. Looking ahead, sustainability ambitions accelerate further.
By 2026, RSI is on track to be 100 per cent solar powered, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and setting a new benchmark for clean-energy airport infrastructure in the region.
As we continued to drive progress in sustainable aviation, this was matched by our commitment to diversity and leadership development.
Our presence and participation at the Women in Aviation Conference was a showcase of our dedication to investing in the women who will play a pivotal role in advancing the airport’s long term vision.
Beyond infrastructure and operations, RSI is equally defined by its commitment to hospitality. Every element of the airport has been crafted to elevate the passenger journey, from lush garden entryways and abundant natural light to luxurious lounge services and intuitive flows that remove friction from arrival and departure.
Guests experience a resort-like arrival that feels effortless, elegant and exclusive.
Architecturally and experientially, RSIA encapsulates the spirit of sustainable tourism, blending desert, oasis and sea-inspired aesthetics to create a sense of place unlike any other airport globally. It is not simply a point of transit, but a meaningful first chapter in the Red Sea journey.
As we move into 2026, our focus remains clear – continue enhancing RSI’s infrastructure, grow our route network and build on our sustainability leadership.
We will further strengthen our partnerships with existing airlines while welcoming new ones, expanding the reach and appeal of The Red Sea and AMAALA to travellers worldwide. Increasing route diversity and frequency will be a core priority as demand continues to rise.
Our development roadmap for the year ahead also includes ongoing enhancements to our passenger experience, building on our innovative transport solutions.
We are committed to ensuring that RSI remains one of the most seamless, efficient and future-driven airports in the region.
And at the heart of it all, sustainability remains non-negotiable. Whether through applying new initiatives, expanded carbon-reduction programmes, increased SAF usage or advanced energy-efficient technologies, 2026 will be another year in which RSI leads by example, demonstrating that growth and responsibility can progress hand in hand.
None of this progress would be possible without the dedication of our teams, the trust of our partners and the vision of destinations we serve. As we look to 2026, we do so with optimism, ambition and a deep belief in the transformative power of aviation.
This is only the beginning of what RSI was built to achieve.
