Saudi’s interior ministry said that four suspects were also arrested in the raid. The men – all Saudi nationals – were reportedly hiding in a farm in northern Awamiyah, which was raided on Tuesday by security forces. The security forces, who came under fire, retaliated, killing the two men. They were identified as Mohammed Tahir Mohammed Al-Nimr and Moqdad Mohammed Hassan Al-Nimr. The four men arrested were identified as Abdulrahman Fadel Abdullah Al-Abdula’al, Mohammed Jafar Abdullah Al-Abdula’al, Jafar Mohammed Al-Faraj and Wasfi Ali Makki Al-Qurus. The farm, which allegedly belonged to extremist Hussein Mohammed Ali Al-Faraj, had been used by the men to prepare and plan their “terrorist” acts, a ministry spokesperson was quoted as saying by Arab News. Some of items retrieved from the farm include potassium, three magazines for machine guns, 71 rounds of live ammunition, and a black mask, according to the ministry. All those killed and arrested held criminal records and were involved in terrorist activities, the ministry added. No security personnel or others were injured during the raid. Saudi has been cracking down heavily on terrorism in the country. On March 14, a member of the Saudi security forces was killed by a suspected terrorist in Al Qatif. The policeman was killed in the same area where security forces killed a wanted terrorist on March 12 after he attacked them during a patrol of abandoned houses. A Qatif officer was also shot dead as he left the local police station on March 7.
