The bus network consists of two stages and aims to serve pilgrims and residents of Makkah
Those who have recovered from the Covid-19 infection can also be issued a permit
The kingdom’s minister of Hajj and Umrah received the Covid-19 vaccine in Jeddah
The registration of Umrah pilgrims for the first 10 days has been completed
During the first phase, only 12 groups of pilgrims would be allowed to perform Umrah within 24 hours
The number of pilgrims attending this year’s Hajj has been limited to 1,000
Saudi Arabia has dramatically downsized the ritual because of the coronavirus pandemic, with authorities testing pilgrims and cutting their numbers from the usual 2 million to around 1,000
Only about 1,000 pilgrims – all from inside Saudi Arabia – have been permitted to perform Hajj this year
The move comes as the kingdom launches PR campaign with influencers on social media
The kingdom is seeking to issue 10 million visas for this year’s Umrah season
