Home Technology Artificial Intelligence Coming soon: Samsung Galaxy AI to enable new era of mobile AI, here are its highlights Galaxy AI is scheduled to be introduced in the early half of next year by Gulf Business November 12, 2023 Image: Supplied Samsung Galaxy is looking to put “the power of openness” in the palm of its users as early as the first half of 2024, with the launch of Galaxy AI. As a mobile AI experience, Galaxy AI is driven by on-device AI developed at Samsung and cloud-based AI enabled by the tech giant’s collaborations with industry leaders. Built-in features will enable users to use a ‘personal translator’ when they require it. Assimilated into the native call feature, it will take away the need to use third-party apps. According to a statement by the company, audio and text translations will appear in real-time as users speak. It will help make phone calls to someone who speaks another language about as “simple as turning on closed captions when you stream a show”. As it’s on-device AI, confidentiality is assured. In August, Samsung Electronics launched Samsung Food, a personalised, AI-powered food and recipe platform. Available in eight languages in 104 countries, the platform features more than 160,000 available recipes. It acts as a ‘personalised assistant’ that helps users create tailored meal plans and order ingredients online. Samsung aims to transform mobile experiences “Mobile technology has an incredible power to enable connection, productivity, creativity, and more for people around the world, but until now, we haven’t seen mobile AI ignite that in truly meaningful ways,” said Wonjoon Choi, EVP and head of R&D, Mobile eXperience Business. “Galaxy AI is our most comprehensive intelligence offering to date, and it will change how we think about our phones forever.” In recent news, Samsung held its AI Forum 2023 to showcase the latest research achievements in artificial intelligence (AI) and computer engineering (CE). Hosted by the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT), it focused on the use of “large-scale AI for a better tomorrow.” Tags Artificial Intelligence Galaxy AI Mobile Phones Technology You might also like Eight Sleep expands into UAE, offering smart sleep solutions Thales’ Elias Merrawe on shaping the future of flight Review: HMD Skyline – A fresh take on smartphone design Lenovo, world’s largest PC maker, to launch factory in Saudi Arabia
