Dubai launches new residency service that is accessible round-the-clock

Dubai has launched a new service that would allow applicants to follow up on the status of their residency application throughout the day.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) said that the new service would be available starting July 7, 2021.

Known as ‘You are Special’, the new service will accept requests and inquiries related to residency services from companies and individuals, as well as citizens and residents seven days a week.

“We in the United Arab Emirates in general, and Dubai in particular, seek to be at the forefront and aim to achieve customers’ requirements through services that distinguish Dubai from the rest of the world,” local media quoted Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, director general of the GDRFA as having said at the time of launching the service.

A dedicated team has reportedly been set up to handle the communication requests around the service and to facilitate a unified work channel to handle such requests.
