Dorchester Collection to manage luxury property on Dubai’s Palm

One Palm is home to one of the most expensive penthouses ever sold in Dubai

Hotel group the Dorchester Collection will manage a new luxury tower on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, project developer Omniyat announced on Tuesday.

The news follows a long-term hotel deal signed between the two companies last week that includes a five-star hotel with luxury residences managed by the brand in the Marasi area on the Dubai Canal.

One Palm features 90 three, four and five-bedroom apartments on the Palm Jumeirah with views of the Dubai Marina skyline. Buyers can choose from designs by either chic Japanese firm Super Potato or London-based design studio Elicyon, famed for its involvement in the One Hyde Park building.

The project made headlines last year after one of the penthouses was reported to be the most expensive solid in Dubai at Dhs102m ($27.7m).

The 910,000-square-foot structure is due to be completed in 2018 and will include a clubhouse with an informal restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor cinema, barbecue area, cigar lounge and spa.

“Not only will Dorchester Collection bring its distinct style of hospitality to the hotel and residence complex in Marasi, but also to One Palm — arguably Dubai’s most exclusive address,” said Dorchester CEO Christopher Cowdray.

“We are delighted to secure the management for this development and look forward to offering its residents the world-class service that Dorchester Collection is famous for.”

Omniyat has a wider development portfolio worth $6.2bn including an upcoming 93-room ME by Melia hotel in The Opus building, designed by late architect Zaha Hadid.
