Dubai developer Omniyat has announced plans to open a Dorchester Collection branded hotel in the emirate on the banks of the Dubai Canal.

The company said it had signed a long-term agreement with the luxury hospitality brand that will span the coming years.

The Dubai project will include a five-star hotel with luxury residences managed by the brand in the Marasi area. The name and design will be revealed in March.

Omniyat said it would also partner with Dorchester Collection on other projects in the region.

The opening will mark Dorchester’s first hotel in the Middle East having established properties in London, Ascot, Paris, Milan, Rome, Beverly Hills and Los Angeles.

“We aim for authenticity through our projects that add to Dubai’s skyline and we only partner with the world’s most established brands that share our passion and excitement for creating unique, ultra-luxury developments,” said Omniyat CEO Mahdi Amjad.

“We want to fuel unforgettable experiences through our projects and we couldn’t have found a more suitable partner than Dorchester Collection.”

Omniyat, which has a development portfolio worth $6.2bn, has also signed deals with ME by Melia and Langham Hospitality Group to bring their hotel brands to Dubai.
