UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed the provision of medical treatment for 1,000 Palestinian cancer patients from the Gaza Strip, state news agency WAM reported on Saturday, November 18.

Recently, the UAE President issued a directive to treat 1,000 Palestinian children requiring medical care in the UAE. The children and their families are being hosted in the UAE until they fully recover, WAM reported.

Sheikh Mohamed also issued a directive to set up a fully equipped field hospital in the Gaza Strip under the Gallant Knight 3 operation.

Meanwhile, the Joint Operations Command at the Ministry of Defence will also build three desalination plants in Rafah, Gaza Strip, as part of the operation.

The production capacity of each plant is 200,000 gallons per day with a total of 600,000 gallons.

The setting up of these plants will benefit 300,000 people on a daily basis.

In October, the UAE launched a campaign to provide relief aid to Palestinians impacted by the war in the Gaza Strip, under the theme ‘Tarahum – for Gaza’, the state news agency.

The campaign enables centres across the UAE to collect and mobilise humanitarian relief packages in partnership with humanitarian and charitable institutions, volunteer centres, the private sector, media, and all segments of society.
