The acquisition will integrate the strengths of both companies to create a regional robust cyber security unit that would embolden Etisalat Digital’s portfolio of digital security services. The move will also enable Etisalat Digital’s existing lines of business – comprising of the cloud, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, big data and analytics – to gain more resilience against cyber threats. “With cyber security playing a fundamental role in all aspects of digital business today, this acquisition fits perfectly into our strategy of being a key enabler of secure, seamless and effective digital transformation for our customers,” said Salvador Anglada, group chief business officer, Etisalat. “We have full trust and confidence that Help AG’s leadership will effectively add value to our security portfolio and amplify the cyber security capabilities of our clients.” Established in 1995 in Germany, Help AG moved into its new headquarters in Jebel Ali Downtown, Dubai in 2018, according to its website. Last week, Etisalat posted a 1 per cent rise in net profit, totaling Dhs8.7bn in 2019, marginally up from Dhs8.6bn in 2018.
