Klout: 55 The official Twitter account for Sheikh Mohammed Al Nahyan, he may have less than half the number of followers as Sheikh Hamdan but with nearly the same high Klout score, Al Nahyan’s tweets go deep into the social media universe. As President of the UAE, if you’re a resident, following his account should be as mandatory as a visa. 8. Nasser Bin Hassan Al-Shaikh @NAlShaikh Followers: 28,197. Klout: 56 Follower numbers may be lower than his peers but the equal Klout rating shows how highly considered and trusted Al-Shaikh’s tweets are. A former member of the Government of Dubai’s Executive Council and director general of the department of finance. 9. Mishaal Al Gergawi @algergawi Followers: 14,184. Klout: 58 Self described as a current affairs commentator, he also writes for The National, Al Gergawi’s mixture of personal and professional tweets in both Arabic and English has cemented him a huge Klout score, equal to those with more than 20 times the number of followers. A hidden gem who is well worth a follow. 10. Abdul Hamid Ahmad @AbdulHamidAhmad Followers: 9,573. Klout: 53 The editor-in-chief of Gulf News, Ahmad was behind the decision to change the publication to the now widely accepted Berliner format – the first newspaper in the Arab world to do so.
