Home UAE Dubai Tier Mobility completes one million rides in Dubai A distance of three million kilometres has been covered, empowering riders to replace 515,000 kilometres of car journeys by Zainab Mansoor January 17, 2023 Tier Mobility, the shared micro-mobility provider, has completed one million rides in Dubai. The milestone was achieved in a timeframe of little more than two years, since the company’s launch in the emirate on October 26, 2020. Users who completed one million journeys in almost 15 months using Tier’s e-scooters and e-bikers, covered a distance of three million kilometres. This helped replace 515,000 kilometres of car journeys and avoid 85,000 kilograms of carbon emissions. Earlier this year, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate and Expo City Dubai announced a partnership with TIER Mobility to operate e-bike micro-mobility services within their respective areas. The new micro-mobility service has been available for residents, tenants, visitors, and employees since May 2022. “We are extremely happy with the use of our e-scooters and e-bikes in Dubai since the launch on October 26, 2020. Our services have been very well received and in recent months we have been able to attract many new customers within Dubai and the region who have tried shared micro-mobility for the first time,” said Amir Melad, general manager, Middle East of TIER. “Our ambition is to connect even more districts to the city’s urban mobility network in the future to offer even a larger audience an alternative to the private car.’ Tier’s first launch in Dubai witnessed e-scooters used predominantly in areas such as Downtown and JLT and has since welcomed the rapid expansion across the remaining areas within the region.
