Home Industry Transport Paying parking fees via Dubai’s RTA app can help earn loyalty points Users can utilise their loyalty points either in the form of balance added to their Nol cards or discounts applicable at multiple cafes, restaurants and other shopping outlets by Zainab Mansoor January 16, 2020 Motorists in Dubai can now earn loyalty points on Nol Plus by paying parking fees via the RTA app, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced. The RTA is beckoning users to actively use their parking accounts to pay parking fees. Parking users can recharge their accounts through the Nol card, mPay or ePay, a statement said. The primary reason to integrate the concept of loyalty points with the smart payment of parking fees is to facilitate the public’s use of smart apps, and for them to benefit from features such as saving surcharges associated with other payment modes, locating vacant parking slots, and gaining a record of past transactions. Users can utilise their loyalty points in the form of balance added to their Nol cards or discounts on e-vouchers applicable at multiple cafes, restaurants and other entertainment/shopping outlets, the statement said. This move is RTA’s latest initiative in a string of efforts to encourage public transport users to use Nol cards, and to underpin the smart transformation of services. In October 2019, RTA unveiled the ‘virtual Nol card’ initiative, as part of which it plans to offer a virtual Nol card to users by the third quarter of 2020.
