GCC Covid-19 update: Saudi registers 1,905 cases; Kuwait records 7 deaths

The death toll in Saudi Arabia has risen to 273

The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia has reported 1,905 additional coronavirus cases, spiking the tally of overall infections to 44,830.

The city of Riyadh led with 673 cases, followed by Jeddah (338) and Makkah (283).

The ministry also confirmed nine additional deaths, raising the death toll to 273.

With additional 2,365 recoveries, the total number of recoveries has risen to 17,622.

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health has registered 715 additional Covid-19 cases and seven deaths.

The total infections now stand at 11,028 while the Covid-19-related death toll has risen to 82.

As many as 169 people are in the intensive care, of whom 77 are said to be in a critical condition.

Oman 
The Ministry of Health has registered 298 new Covid-19 cases, which include 89 Omanis and 209 expatriates. The tally of infections has risen to 4,019.

The ministry also confirmed that 17 people have succumbed to the virus while 1,289 patients have so far recovered.

 

Bahrain
As of May 12, 8.30pm, Bahrain recorded a total of 3,330 active Covid-19 cases, of whom five were reported to be in a critical condition.

Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health has announced 1,390 positive Covid-19 cases in the country, as a result of 3,833 people screened for the virus in the last 24 hours.

As many as 3,143 people have till now recovered from the infection.
