Home GCC UAE Free Covid-19 tests for UAE tourists in Ras Al Khaimah The free testing initiative will be available until December 31, 2020 by Varun Godinho October 7, 2020 The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has said that all international tourists staying overnight and departing from Ras Al Khaimah will be eligible for free Covid-19 PCR tests. The free testing facility will be available until December 31, 2020, with RAKTDA having partnered with RAK Hospital for this initiative. Tourists can avail of the tests either at RAK Hospital or at RAK Medical Centre in Al Hamra Mall. “It is with great pleasure that we announce the complimentary test for international visitors, as this effort will put in place an added element of safety – both for the guests staying within our properties, as well as our hospitality providers and their staff,” said Raki Phillips, CEO of RAKTDA. In July as the emirate began to reopen to visitors, officials announced that all hospitality staff in Ras Al Khaimah would be eligible for free Covid-19 PCR tests. It was also the first emirate within the UAE to receive the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travels Stamp, certifying its extensive hygiene and security measures. Apart from tourists, other emirates within the UAE have opened free Covid-19 testing centres for their residents and citizens. In Ajman, citizens and residents can visit the “Al Bait Metwahid Hall” to avail of free Covid-19 tests. The centre has a testing capacity of over 2,000 people per day. Read more: Ajman to open free Covid-19 testing centre on July 23 In July, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, ordered local health authorities to offer free Covid-19 tests to both citizens and residents in the emirate.
