All private and public schools and nurseries across the emirate of Umm Al Quwain in the UAE will move to 100 per cent distance learning until further notice.
The decision reached by the country’s Ministry of Education and the local emergency, crisis and disaster management team in Umm Al Quwain, was communicated via Twitter on Sunday, February 14.
Umm Al Quwain has become the third emirate in the UAE to shift all schools and nurseries to 100 per cent distance learning.
On February 11, the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) directed students in private schools and nurseries to commence 100 per cent e-learning from February 14 until February 28, as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of Covid-19.

Two days prior, the UAE’s Ministry of Education suspended indefinitely, in-classroom learning across all schools and nurseries in Ajman, moving them to distance learning.
