In-classroom learning across all schools and nurseries in Ajman has been suspended indefinitely, the UAE’s Ministry of Education and the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster management team in the emirate announced on Tuesday.

According to state news agency WAM, the decision was made “in response to the strategic requirements pursued by the UAE to ensure the health and safety of UAE citizens and residents in general, and our students, and the school community in particular.”

Earlier this month, the ministry had announced that public schools across the country would be permitted to introduce the phased return of on-site learning for all academic levels starting February 14.

It confirmed that hybrid education will continue to be offered at public schools as an option until the end of the academic year.

Abu Dhabi’s Emergency Crisis and Disaster Committee meanwhile also confirmed that in-classroom education would resume for all grades and schools, including private schools, from February 14.

It added that e-learning will continue to remain an option for students in Abu Dhabi schools until the end of the current academic year.
