Abu Dhabi’s Aldar awards $354m main contract for Water’s Edge

Abu Dhabi developer Aldar Properties has awarded the main contract for its Dhs2.4bn ($653.4m) Water’s Edge development to UAE-based Trojan General Contracting.

The company previously awarded early works for the project, which comprises 2,255 residential units as well as exercise and recreation facilities, restaurants and cafes, retail space and a waterfront promenade on Yas Island’s eastern shores, to Dutch Foundation.

The Dhs1.3bn ($353.9m) contract comes as Aldar continues work on other projects across Yas Island including the Dhs12bn ($3.26bn) South Yas development featuring a new campus for media authority twofour54.

Aldar is aiming to hand over Water’s Edge in phases between June and December 2020.
