Home GCC UAE Sharjah schools to offer 100% distance learning until end of second semester The nationwide Covid-19 case count in the UAE has crossed 388,000 by Zainab Mansoor February 28, 2021 Private and public schools and nurseries in the emirate of Sharjah will continue to offer 100 per cent distance learning as a mode of education until the end of spring semester, local authorities have announced. The Local Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management team in Sharjah said the decision was made in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Sharjah Private Education Authority. This directive marks the continuance of an earlier injunction in which students in private schools and nurseries across Sharjah were shifted to commence 100 per cent e-learning from February 14 until February 28, as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of Covid-19. The committee also called on members of society to expedite the receiving of their vaccines through the allocated vaccination centres across the country. Earlier this month, the UAE’s Ministry of Education indefinitely suspended in-classroom learning across all schools and nurseries in Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and and Umm Al Quwain moving them to distance learning. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen spiked to 1,213.
