The capital’s first low-cost carrier, launched in July this year, currently operates flights to Alexandria and Sohag in Egypt. The new service represents the fifth route for Air Arabia Abu Dhabi since the launch of services from Abu Dhabi International Airport. Flight 3L 426 will depart from Abu Dhabi at 9.20pm, arriving in Cairo at 10.40pm. The return flight 3L 427 will depart from the Egyptian capital at 11.20pm, arriving in the UAE capital at 4.45am (the next day). The route will be operated with an Airbus A320. The daily service will offer “greater connectivity and value-for-money options” for passengers, a statement said. Passengers can book flights between Abu Dhabi and Cairo by visiting Air Arabia’s website or through travel agencies. The new airline – the UAE’s fifth – was formed following an agreement by Etihad Airways and Air Arabia to establish an independent joint venture company that will operate as a low-cost passenger airline with Abu Dhabi International Airport as its hub. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi follows the business model of Air Arabia and will complement the services of Etihad Airways.
