The carrier will launch a twice-weekly service between Cairo to Muscat, starting March 11, 2021
Twice weekly flights from Sharjah, operated using an Airbus A320 aircraft, will resume from February 23
The announcement comes after the UAE restored ties with Qatar earlier this month
The airline’s turnover for the third quarter of 2020 equaled Dhs294m
It also confirmed that it will resume flights to several destinations across Pakistan, Egypt and Bangladesh from Ras Al Khaimah
All passengers flying in and out of the facility will be required to follow protocol to present the spread of Covid-19
The cover includes medical expenses and quarantine costs and is valid for 31 days
The new service represents the fifth route for Air Arabia Abu Dhabi since its launch in July
Air Arabia served a total 2.48 million passengers in the first half of 2020, a drop of 57 per cent compared to first half of 2019
The Abu Dhabi-based airline has started with two routes to Egypt
Etihad and Air Arabia are also accepting booking for ICA-approved UAE residents to return to the country from India
Only Egyptian nationals will be allowed to board these flights scheduled between June 11-16
Individual carriers including Etihad Airways, Emirates, flydubai, and Air Arabia are expected to make announcements regarding their flight schedules over the next few days
UAE airlines Emirates and Etihad Airways have also confirmed redundancies
The airline also reported a turnover of Dhs901m in the first quarter of this year
The UAE authorities are yet to announce the resumption of regular commercial passenger flight operations
Two special flights operated between Lahore and Multan in Pakistan and Sharjah
The airline said it will work to finalise the launch date depending on when “market conditions improve and skies are open again”
The airline says preparatory work for the launch remains in motion
