Home GCC Kuwait Video: Kuwait reports another oil spill There have been at least two other spillages in the country’s waters over the last month by Staff Writer September 18, 2017 Kuwait’s General Authority of Environment has announced it is monitoring an oil spill in the southern marine area of Ras-Al-Zour. The report comes following at least two spillages in the country’s waters over the last month including one that spanned a nautical mile and affected large areas of the coastline. Read: Kuwait says oil spills contained The latest incident is in the same area where one of the previous spills took place. Ras-Al-Zour is also the location where Kuwait National Petroleum Company is currently building the Middle East’s largest oil refinery. When it is completed the $11.5bn project will have a capacity of 615,000 barrels per day.
