They will include recreational facilities and walkways and are expected to be opened in the coming months under Jeddah municipality management, according to the publication. The parks form part of the municipality’s plans for women only recreational areas and other infrastructure to encourage walking. It is also constructing 10 new pavements in various parts of the city. Under its Vision 2030 diversification plan Saudi Arabia is seeking to encourage women to take a more active role in society by entering the workforce.
