Home UAE Dubai Video: Prized number plate, V 12, auctioned for Dhs7m in Dubai Dubai’s RTA generated a total of Dhs36.224m during its first open auction of number plates this year by Staff Writer August 24, 2020 Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that at the 104th Open Auction for Distinctive Number Plates held on Saturday, August 22, it generated a total revenues of Dhs36.224m. This figure marks an 83 per cent increase over the previous auction held in December 2019 which raked in Dhs19m. The auction on Saturday was held at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel and was the first open auction of number plates conducted this year by the RTA in Dubai. The auction’s top selling plate was V 12 which sold for Dhs7m. The other coveted plates at the auction included S 20 and Y 66 which sold for Dhs4.06m and Dhs3.2m respectively. Last year, the Dubai number plate W 12 auctioned for Dhs4m.
