With the long weekend now done, the next public holiday in the UAE is two months away.

Milad Un Nabi, which marks Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, falls on or around Monday November 19 this year with public and private sector workers expected to get a day off. The exact date will depend on the sighting of the moon.

The next public holiday is Commemoration Day on November 30. Formerly known as as Martyrs’ Day, this holiday honours the Emiratis who have died in the line of duty. It falls on a Friday this year, hence no additional day might be given to the private sector.

The last holiday of the year is to celebrate the UAE’s 47th National Day, which marks the anniversary of the unification of the seven emirates in 1971. It falls on December 2, a Sunday, meaning public and private sector workers will likely have a long weekend.
