The next public holiday in the UAE is coming up later this month.

Milad Un Nabi, marking Prophet Mohammad’s birthday, is expected to fall on or around Monday, November 19 this year.

Public and private sector workers are anticipated to get one day off for the occasion.

The exact date will depend on the sighting of the moon and will be announced closer to the date.

The next public holiday in the UAE is Commemoration Day on November 30. Formerly known as as Martyrs’ Day, this holiday honours the Emiratis who have died in the line of duty. It falls on a Friday this year, hence no additional day might be given to the private sector.

The last holiday of the year falls on December 2, the UAE’s 47th National Day, which marks the anniversary of the unification of the seven emirates in 1971

It falls on a Sunday, meaning public and private sector workers will likely have a long weekend.
