Home Industry Food Flat-rate food delivery app launched in UAE to support local restaurants The app offers venues zero per cent commission for the first six months should they sign up during the first month by Zainab Mansoor June 21, 2020 UAE-based free-to-use mobile food delivery app Grub was launched across Dubai in June. The platform, that lists a variety of restaurants and wholesalers, is offering local venues zero per cent commission for the first six months should they sign up during the launch month. Grub will begin operations while only taking a Dhs1 success fee per order, as it aims to shore up restaurants and outlets struggling to manage costs during the ongoing pandemic. Restauranteur and COO of Grub, Edgar Jimenez, said: “I’ve experienced first-hand the struggle to connect with a client base via food aggregators. At Grub, we’re extremely passionate about helping our restaurant community not only navigate through the public health crisis, but also take control of the customer experience, so restaurants can thrive as the industry begins to recover.” Restaurants will have the creative control of their pages, whereby they can upload all their content and control discounts and offers themselves. Additionally, restaurants can map their delivery areas and use their drivers or, at an affordable cost, opt to use a third-party driver as an option from the app, further underpinning the restaurant sector. The flat-rate, mobile food-ordering application is available on iOS and Android. “Knowing that your food and community is being handled with care and honesty makes the whole dining experience that much better. From our customer satisfaction to our partner restaurants’ level of control and accessibility, we want to enhance the standard of delivery services in the UAE and ensure that the right people are being rewarded for their hard work,” states CEO of Grub, Michael Andersen. “Our team of experts have been working on the app for the last 18 months as we have seen the need for a delivery service that operates fairly with the client base. We are aware that there are bigger companies trying their hand at this, but for us it seems contradictory when those said companies have been discounting F&B businesses with two-for-one offers in the city for years.” Tags Covid-19 customers food delivery app Grub restaurants 0 Comments You might also like Michelin Guide Dubai 2024: list revealed Newest Covid-19 variant officially detected in Oman Fast-food chains: 9 steps to making the switch to sustainable packaging Global airlines poised for 2.7% jump in profit in 2024, says IATA
