The UAE government reported 254 new Covid-19 cases in the country on Saturday, August 1.
The total number of cases detected has risen to 60,760.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention said that the new cases were detected following 43,268 tests conducted to screen for the virus.
According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and are receiving the necessary care.
The ministry also reported 346 new recoveries on Saturday, pushing the total number of recoveries up to 54,255.
There were no new deaths recorded over the preceding 24 hours.
MoHAP has said that it aims to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide, to further contain the virus.
The ministry reiterated on Saturday measures that should be observed to prevent the transmission of the virus especially during the Eid Al Adha holidays.
It encouraged people to transfer digital means of payment rather than physical notes when distributing money Eid gifts (Ediya) to children.
It also said that people should avoid visiting those that are within a high-risk category including pregnant women and the elderly.
