The UAE is bracing for a weekend of rainy, stormy conditions with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasting convective cloud activity from Thursday, March 7 to Sunday, March 10.
While Thursday will see light to moderate rainfall in the South and West of the country, Friday could bring heavier showers across the emirates, notified the NCM.
The rain showers on Friday and Saturday are expected to be accompanied by thunder and lightning, forecast the NCM.
The notification added, the wet weather will peter out only by Sunday, to be followed by foggy conditions at the start of the new week.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Authority (NCEMA) said its teams were prepared for the inclement weather conditions.
