The UAE’s weather authority has forecast rains for the country starting Monday until Wednesday. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said moderate to heavy rain showers will be witnessed across many parts of the UAE.

It predicted moderate rain showers for areas of Dubai such as Deira, Emirates Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Additionally, parts of Dubai have been put under an ‘Orange alert’ which signifies hazardous weather events.

The rainy and wet weather conditions are due to convective cloud activity, said the NCM in its weather advisory.

Heavy rain predicted for Sharjah

The emirate of Sharjah will see heavy rains accompanied by lightning, according to the NCM.

Fujairah too is likely to see heavy rain showers starting Monday, March4.

The weather authority cautioned motorists to venture out only if necessary during wet weather as well as follow safety practices such as using low beam lights, as well as remain vigilant.

The weather authority attributed the rainy conditions to a surface low-pressure system extending from the southwest, accompanied by cold westerly winds.

According to forecasts, the heavy rain is expected to commence in Abu Dhabi from 8pm on Monday evening, spreading across the country overnight to reach Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman.

Tuesday afternoon will see intermittent rain showers persisting before the skies are anticipated to clear by 9pm.

However, Wednesday’s weather outlook remains cloudy, with temperatures expected to drop. Highs of 27 degrees C and 25 degrees C are forecasted for Abu Dhabi and Dubai, respectively, with lows of 13 degrees C and 12 degrees C.
