The UAE Cabinet has approved a new decree granting the private sector “equal” public holidays for this year. Traditionally, public sector employees in the country have enjoyed additional days off for certain holidays. “The decree aims at achieving a balance between the two sectors and supporting the national economy”, the UAE government communications office said on Twitter. It also outlined all the national holidays for the year 2019-2020. Public and private sector workers will have 14 official holidays this year. The UAE Cabinet approves public holidays for the public sector for the years 2019-2020, and grants the private sector equal holidays.
