The UAE’s public holidays for 2023 will come to their conclusion in December.

The country is preparing to commemorate its 52nd National Day on December 2, a significant and historic day for the nation.

This annual celebration marks the unity and formation of the UAE, a union of emirates that include Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah, and Ajman. This occasion unites the nation in celebration, reinforcing the bonds that have led to tremendous growth and development in the country.

UAE public holiday in December 2023

Commemoration Day falls on Friday, December 1, followed by National Day on Saturday, December 2 and a further holiday for National Day on Sunday, December 3.

That said, it is unclear at this stage whether the National Day public holidays will equate to a working day off.

If Commemoration Day is marked by a public holiday, UAE residents can look forward to a three-day weekend From Friday – December 1 to Sunday – December 3.

According to the official holiday list released by the UAE government, the grand festivities for UAE National Day are set to take place on December 2. As December 2 happens to be a Saturday, followed by December 3, a Sunday, providing residents with a spectacular 3-day weekend to partake in the celebrations.

Moreover, residents in the UAE will also have the opportunity to honor the nation’s heroes on November 30-December 1, which is observed as Commemoration Day.

Previously known as Martyrs’ Day, this significant national holiday pays tribute to the sacrifices and dedication of Emirati martyrs who have given their lives in various fields, including civil, military, and humanitarian service.

This wonderful confluence of holidays results in an extended 3-day weekend, allowing UAE residents to fully engage in the National Day celebrations and take a moment to remember the heroes who have contributed to the country’s growth and prosperity.

The 52nd National Day celebration promises to be an unforgettable event, fostering unity and camaraderie among the people of the UAE.
