Home GCC UAE UAE President Sheikh Mohamed receives Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed expressed his best wishes to King Hamad and Bahrain and its people for continued development and growth by Gulf Business November 23, 2023 Image courtesy: WAM The UAE’s President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, at Qasr Al Bateen in Abu Dhabi, according to state news agency, Emirates News Agency. During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the Bahraini foreign minister, who conveyed the greetings of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, along with his wishes for further progress and prosperity for the UAE. The UAE President, in return, expressed his best wishes to King Hamad and Bahrain and its people for continued development and growth. Sheikh Mohamed and Bahrain’s top diplomat discussed the fraternal relations that bind the two GCC nations across various areas of cooperation that contribute to achieving their common interests. The UAE President welcomed the convening of the 11th meeting of the UAE-Bahrain Joint Committee chaired by the foreign ministers of the two countries. The meeting addressed developments in the Middle East and several issues of mutual interest. UAE President champions development in the Middle East Meanwhile, President Sheikh Mohamed received the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad in November. The two leaders underscored the critical necessity of working to halt the spread of violence and escalation to prevent further humanitarian crises in the Middle East and establish a clear political horizon towards securing lasting peace in the region. The two leaders also called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid through secure and unimpeded channels. Earlier in the month, the UAE President also welcomed King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, who arrived in the UAE for a state visit earlier in November. King Abdullah II’s visit to the UAE followed an invitation from the UAE President and was aimed at strengthening the two countries’ historic relations and strategic cooperation. The visit also sought to realise their vision for sustainable development and prosperity in both nations.
