While many countries mark the third Sunday of June as Father’s Day, the UAE has dedicated June 21 to fathers to coincide with International Father’s Day. The Midsummer Day is celebrated every year as Father’s Day in the country to recognise their vital role in our lives.

This Father’s Day 2023, we look at the Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum’s journey as a son and a father. He shares his life’s beautiful moments on his Instagram account. Sheikh Hamdan’s Instagram handle is Fazza where he has chronicled his life with his twins and his father – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan as a father

Sheikh Hamdan and his wife Sheikha Sheikha bint Saeed, who married in May 2019, had twins on May 20, 2021. The twins Sheikh Rashid and Sheikha Shaikha turned two this year.

Sheikh Hamdan takes special pride and interest in the running of Godolphin stables. He had Sheikh Rashid and Sheikha Shaikha visiting their thoroughbred bay colt Adayar at Newmarket, Suffolk.

As the twins turned two-years old in 2023, Sheikh Hamdan shared pictures of the family at the beach enjoying the summer sun and getting a tour of the Dubai Safari Park.

As a son

Sheikh Hamdan has over the years shared moments from his childhood with his followers. Photographs of Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Mohammed show the strong bond between the father and son.

Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Mohammed were in Yorkshire for a hunting trip.

Sheikh Hamdan’s love for dogs is well known and this photograph shows him with a furry friend when the Crown Prince was a child.

Sheikh Hamdan paid tribute to the UAE’s founding father and first ruler Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan along with his father Sheikh Mohammed.

Three generations of the family

Two is bounty. Sheikh Hamdan shared photographs of Sheikh Mohammed as a grandfather with the birth of his twins in 2021.

Sheikh Hamdan posted a touching moment when his father Sheikh Mohammed held his newborn grandchild baby Mohamed, who was born in early 2023. The Crown Prince revealed the baby’s name as Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Hamdan’s love for the outdoors is well known and he shared a family moment with the twins and his father.
