Public and private sector workers will have a four-day weekend to mark Eid Al Adha 2024. “We announce that 9 to 12 Dhu al Hijjah 1445 AH (15 June to 18 June) will be an official paid holiday for private sector employees in celebration of the Day of Arafah and Eid Al Adha,” the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) said in a social media post on X. Eid Mubarak! 🤍 #MoHRE #UAE pic.twitter.com/E6pkcgcsGF — وزارة الموارد البشرية والتوطين (@MOHRE_UAE) June 8, 2024 The public sector will be granted the same paid holiday, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) announced. “The Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha holidays for employees of the federal government will be from 9 Dhul Hijjah, corresponding to Saturday, June 15, until 12 Dhul Hijjah 1445 AH, corresponding to Tuesday, June 18, 2024,” the FAHR said in a circular issued to all ministries and federal entities. FAHR said the circular was issued based on the Cabinet Resolution regarding the approved public holiday calendar for 2024 in the public and private sectors. The crescent of the Dhu Al Hijjah moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Thursday. Therefore, Friday, June 7, was the first day of the month of Dhu Al Hijjah.
