Home GCC UAE UAE and Indonesia to partner on climate action, infrastructure development and AI The agreements aim to strengthen the economic, environmental and technological cooperation between the two countries by Zainab Mansoor November 15, 2022 UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indonesian President Joko Widodo witnessed the signing of numerous pacts to bolster cooperation between the two countries. Read: UAE President arrives in Indonesia to attend G20 summit The two countries will also partner on cybersecurity, while an agreement on the mutual recognition of economic accreditations, and a grant agreement on financing a tuberculosis control programme in Indonesia, was also inked. In addition, an MoU was signed between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Kilang Pertamina Internasional to cooperate on the petrochemical sector; Borouge and Chandra Asri Petrochemical inked an MoU on the circular economy and the development of new applications; Inalum and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) signed on a joint development agreement; while Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and Pertamina Power Indonesia also partnered on developing a solar power plant in the Rokan Block. An MoU was also signed between Masdar, the Indonesian Investment Authority and Pertamina Power Indonesia on renewable energy and storage; a collaboration agreement on healthcare performance analytics between ASAREN Indonesia and G42 in the area of AI; and an MoU on national genome initiatives between ASAREN Indonesia and G42 Healthcare. Sheikh Mohamed also joined the Indonesian president in inaugurating the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, named in honour of the UAE’s founding father.
