Sawiris, who ranked second in Forbes Billionaires’ list of Africa’s richest people 2021 with a net worth of $8.5bn, has remained active in the investments space. Sawiris, who is also co-owner and chairman of football club Aston Villa, led his investment vehicle NNS to acquire a stake in Madison Square Garden Sports – owner of New York Knicks and Rangers last year. Earlier this year, it was also reported that NNS is looking to sell its 7.42 per cent stake in Signature Aviation for $4.7bn.
