Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs In what was a landmark move aimed at highlighting the importance of the SME sector to the UAE, the country appointed its first ever Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs last year, with Al Falasi handed the responsibility of the role. Tasked with designing national initiatives to strengthen the SME sector and support entrepreneurship, the former Minister of State for Higher Education has plenty of experience – he previously served as the chairman of the Federal Authority for Human Resources, chairman of the UAE Space Agency and the CEO of Masdar, among other roles.
