Now, there is no need to apply or wait for a visa prior to your trip. All residents in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can now enter Oman without a visa, as announced by the Directorate General of Passports and Residence and Oman Airports. According to local news sources, a new circular released by the Directorate General of Passports and Residence said that the rule is applicable to people of all commercial professions. As per the circular, it is not required for the resident to come directly from a GCC country to avail this facility, it is “permitted at any time and from any destination they arrive from”. A GCC resident’s visa is a must, however, it should be valid for a minimum of three months before entering Oman. Additionally, the circular states that visas will only be granted to restricted nationalities after following the required policies.
