Home GCC Oman Oman eases visa rules for tourists from 25 countries Citizens from the selected countries will no longer need a sponsor if they meet certain conditions by Staff Writer October 19, 2017 Oman has loosened entry requirements for the citizens of 25 countries to boost tourism. The changes follow a similar lifting of restrictions for Russian, Indian and Chinese passport holders earlier this month. Read: Oman relaxes visa rules for tourists from Russia, India, China Citizens from the selected countries will be able to come to Oman on a non-sponsored e-visa provided they have a valid residence or tourist visa for the US, Canada, Australia, the UK or European Union countries at the time of the application. Applicants must also have a passport valid for six months, a return flight ticket and a confirmed hotel reservation in Oman. The spouse and children of an applicant who meets the criteria will also be granted visas. The entry fee is the now standard OMR20 ($52) for a one-month tourist visa after the price was quadrupled earlier this year. Read: Oman quadruples cost of tourist visas “The concerned authority has the right to disallow the entry of any citizen of these countries who meet the conditions of obtaining this visa if required for the public interest,” Royal Oman Police added.
