New PowerPort III Nano charger from Anker is optimised to fast-charge the iPhone 12

The new charger is comparable in size to a stock phone charger but is three times faster

Apple is shipping the new iPhone 12 without an AC power adapter, a move it says is dictated by environmental concerns.

New iPhone owners will either have to use an old iPhone adapter or buy a third-party one. If you choose the latter option, you should consider the new Anker PowerPort III Nano.

The small wall charger is capable of charging the new iPhones up to three times faster than a stock charger, the company says.

The PowerPort III Nano’s body measures the same as a 5W stock smartphone charger but dispenses up to 20W of power using the Power Delivery (PD) standard. PD is a specification for handling higher power and allows a range of devices to charge quickly over a USB connection.

The adapter features one single USB-C port that uses Anker proprietary PowerIQ 3.0 technology, which has been updated and optimised to be fully compatible with the iPhone 12’s fast-charging protocol. This allows the Nano to charge the new iPhone 12 up to 50 per cent in 30 minutes.

The PowerPort III Nano is available in major retail outlets.
