Dubai-based dnata’s airport hospitality brand, marhaba, has announced a home Covid-19 testing procedure that is now available as part of its Premium Home Check-in Service.

It will allow customers to obtain a medical certificate within 24 to 48 hours of testing, at home or any location of their choice in Dubai.

The testing service is being offered by way of a partnership with healthcare provider Mediclinic.

Customers booking the Premium Home Check-in Service are visited by a medical personnel who performs a swab test on passengers ahead of the check-in process.

The samples are tested in a laboratory and the results are shared with customers digitally.

As part of the Premium Home Check-in Service, agents check in travellers for their flights, print their boarding passes (subject to airline approvals), weigh and tag their baggage and ensure that they are delivered to the airport and loaded onto the aircraft.

All baggage is treated with a disinfectant to remove any germs and provide protection from microbes for up to 72 hours.

Once customers arrive to the airport, an agent will be on-hand to fast-track them through the airport.

“We are delighted to add convenient and safe home Covid-19 testing to our marhaba offering. Our newest service helps passengers enjoy complete peace of mind and a seamless travel experience from their home to the boarding gate,” said Steve Allen, divisional senior vice president, UAE Airport Operations and Travel, dnata.

While marhaba’s Premium Home Check-in Service costs Dhs714 and can be booked via its website, its Covid-19 testing costs an additional Dhs209 per person and can be paid to the Mediclinic staff directly at the time of their visit to collect the sample.

Marhaba added that it has implemented several safety precautions to safeguard against infections. Its chauffeurs adhere to safety protocols, with the cars undergoing strict disinfecting procedures after each trip.

Its lounges meanwhile offer touchless payment options and are frequently sanitised too.

In July, DUBZ, dnata’s baggage technology and logistics company, also partnered with Mediclinic to offer Covid-19 testing bundled together with its home check-in services to travellers in Dubai.
