DUBZ, dnata’s baggage technology and logistics company, has partnered with Mediclinic to offer Covid-19 testing bundled together with its home check-in services to travellers in Dubai.

The service can be booked for Dhs199 via the DUBZ website (or by visiting the DuBZ Luggage Concierge on the ground floor of Dubai Mall) and the service is available seven days a week from 8am-9pm.

Customers booking the Covid-19 tests are visited by a team of medical professionals who will perform a swab test on all the passengers ahead of the home check-in process.

The samples are tested and the results shared with customers digitally.

Those who test negative will obtain a medical certificate within 24-48 hours of being tested.

“Mediclinic is delighted to partner with DUBZ on this new initiative which will enable people to start travelling safely, with peace of mind that they are healthy, and that they have undergone testing with the minimum amount of contact before their flight. Our dedicated Covid-19 testing laboratories also mean that results are available quickly and accurately,” said David Hadley, CEO of Mediclinic Middle East.

“Our partnership with Mediclinic underlines our commitment to ensuring a safe, hassle-free travel experience for customers. We continue to work hard to deliver innovative solutions that make a difference,” added Omar Abou Faraj, CEO and co-founder of DUBZ.

The home check-in process meanwhile means that DUBZ agents will check-in travellers for their flights, print their boarding passes, weigh and tag their baggage and ensure that they are delivered to the airport and loaded onto the aircraft.

All baggage is treated with disinfectants that provide protection from microbes for up to 72 hours.

At the airport, DUBZ customers will be met by marhaba’s meet-and-greet agents who fast-track them through immigration.

While the UAE hasn’t made Covid-19 tests mandatory for outbound travellers, there are some countries that require inbound passengers to undergo a test prior to their departure.
