Preparations are ongoing and she has reiterated her confidence in the UAE’s ability to deliver one of the most successful expos ever. Her challenge in the build–up to the event will be making sure the country can deliver on that promise. Outside of Expo 2020, Al Hashemi serves in a number of important government roles and boasts extensive international credentials. She began her career as commercial attaché and, later, as deputy chief of mission at the UAE embassy in Washington DC. She is considered a progressive outward face of Dubai and the UAE, and a role model for Emirati women.
