The company has committed more than $1.7bn to renewable energy developments including projects in the UAE, Seychelles, Samoa, Spain, the United Kingdom, Oman and Mauritania. Belhoul is also said to be eyeing additional solar and wind projects in Egypt, Jordan and Morocco following the launch of a wind farm joint venture in Jordan last year. He was previously CEO of strategy and tourism sector development at the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing where he helped develop Dubai’s Tourism 2020 strategy.
