Lebanese designer Elie Saab has a $200m fashion and perfume empire and is renowned for his elegant east-meets-west style ball gowns.  Showing design talent at an early age, Saab studied in Paris before opening a boutique in his native Beirut, where his reputation soon spread across the region. His star grew rapidly in Europe and then globally after he presented a range at Milan Fashion Week in 1998. He famously dressed Queen Rania of Jordan for her enthronement and actress Halle Berry at the 2002 Oscars when she won Best Actress. He now has 10 boutiques across the world and his designs are sold in more than 100 retail outlets.
