Nusseibeh’s newest appointment follows a long list of key diplomatic positions she has held over the past decade. She serves as the UAE’s Ambassador and has been the Permanent Representative of the United Nations (UN) since 2013. A 2021 federal decree established her as the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs. Nusseibeh was instrumental in the launch of the Arab Women Military and Peacekeeping Programme in the UAE in 2019. She has also served as the UAE Co-Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan and the Head of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Campaign Task Force at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
