LG wearable air purifier now available in the UAE

You can now wear your air purifier.

The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier, launched in the UAE today, harnesses two H13 HEPA filters to block up to 99.95% of harmful airborne matter, such as viruses, (including Covid-19) bacteria and common allergens, the company says.

LG says sensors in the air purifier detect the cycle and volume of the user’s breathing, automatically adjusting its dual fans accordingly via three-speed settings. The fans can speed up when the wearer is inhaling, and slow down to reduce resistance upon exhaling.

The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier comes with a built-in, rechargeable 820 battery which can deliver up to four hours of performance on average. The battery recharges in two hours.

Filters, the inner cover, face guard, ear straps and strap extenders can be removed and replaced. The purifier is 156 x 110 x 63 mm big and weighs 126g.

The PuriCare Wearable design is based on extensive facial shape analysis, the company says, adding that the device fits snugly around the user’s face, minimizing air leakage around the nose and chin area. The faceguard also features a silicone pad which for a more comfortable fit for hours of wearing and reduces the fogging up of glasses, while the inner cover prevents internal contamination.

“While this device could not be any timelier, demand for portable protection and access to clean air is not new,” said Hongju Jeon, president, LG Electronics Gulf. “For years, we have seen growing interest and concern for maintaining good air quality – which is why we have continued to expand our PuriCare lineup. We are seeing interest in sectors ranging from government and B2B organizations, right through to everyday consumers.”

The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier is now available in the UAE at select Carrefour, Sharaf DG and ACE stores for Dhs699.
