Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways introduces direct flights to Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Dammam will be the airline’s fifth destination in the kingdom, following Riyadh, Jeddah, Medinah and Taif

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s low-cost airline, will commence its service to Dammam in Saudi Arabia starting December 19, its fifth destination in the kingdom, following Riyadh, Jeddah, Medinah and Taif.

The carrier will fly from Kuwait to Dammam three times a week, departing at 12.35pm local time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and returning from Dammam at 2.25pm local time, a statement said.

Economy class fares for a one-way Kuwait-Dammam flight, start at KD38 ($125). Return flights fares from Kuwait begin at KD64 ($211) on the same class.

King Fahd International Airport in Dammam is the third largest airport in the kingdom, hosting over 10.4 million passengers in 2018.

The airline will also provide Dammam residents with flight connections to Hyderabad, Alexandria, Amman, Mumbai, Cochin and Kathmandu, servicing the expatriate segment as well as expanding trade relations, the statement said.

Rohit Ramachandran, CEO, Jazeera Airways said: “We are very glad to be connecting our customers to the sixth largest city of Saudi Arabia with direct and connecting flights at value fares.”

“With its status as the capital of the eastern province and a major administrative centre for the Saudi oil industry, Dammam connects our customers to the larger easter province where around 15 per cent of the Kingdom’s population live.”

Jazeera Airways flies to 34 destinations across the Middle East, India and Europe including London, Dubai, Bahrain, Doha, Beirut, Amman, Alexandria, Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor, Sohag, Jeddah, Riyadh, Taif, Najaf, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Lahore, Istanbul, Bodrum, Baku, Tbilisi, Kathmandu and Karachi, among others, the statement said.

Jazeera Airways posted KD16.1m in net profit for the first nine months of 2019, up 90.2 per cent from KD8.5m during the same period in 2018, according to its website.
