The cancer was discovered while the King was being treated for a benign prostate enlargement, and has begun treatment, added the statement.

Buckingham Palace says the King “remains wholly positive about his treatment” but has chosen not to reveal the type of cancer that the monarch has been diagnosed with.
He will postpone his public engagement but will continue “to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”
