GCC Covid-19: Saudi reports 4,233 infections, 40 deaths; UAE registers 304 cases

The death toll in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait has risen to 972 and 296 respectively

The UAE reported 304 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, June 14, taking the overall number of infections up to 42,294.

It also reported 701 new recoveries. As a result, 27,362 individuals have recovered from the virus.

The government also reported one new death, and therefore the death toll has risen to 289.

Saudi Arabia 
The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia has reported 4,233 Covid-19 cases and 40 deaths, its highest daily count of infections and fatalities since the outbreak.

Riyadh has registered 1,735 infections, followed by Jeddah (352), Makkah (314) and Dammam (161).

The total number of infections has now reached 127,541 while the death toll stands at 972.

Critical cases amount to 1,855.

Oman 
The Ministry of Health has registered 1,404 cases and five deaths on June 13.

The death toll has risen to 104 while the infection count tallies 23,481.

Kuwait
Kuwait has registered 454 Covid-19 cases and seven deaths, scaling the death toll to 296 and the infection count to 35,920, Kuwait News Agency reported.

As many as 171 patients are receiving treatment at intensive care wards.

Bahrain
As of June 13, Bahrain had 5,368 active Covid-19 cases of whom 18 were reported to be critical. Meanwhile, 41 have succumbed to the virus.

Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health has reported 1,186 and three deaths in the last 24 hours.

The death toll stands at 73.
